I picked up running as a way to keep fit during year 2 of graduate school — I’m not very fast, but it’s a good way to make sure I get out from the lab & stay healthy. It’s also become a nice way for me to travel and see new cities or familiar ones in fresh ways.
I’m also a budding cyclist and enjoy spending time riding around the Bay on my Trek Domane AL 4 Disc. I firmly believe that you haven’t lived if you haven’t descended the backside of Hawk Hill just across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Here are some of the races I’ve done recently:
- New York City Marathon (November 2023)
- Pittsburgh Marathon (May 2022)
- Bay to Breakers (May 2023, 2022)
- Peachtree Road Race (July, many years)
- Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon (Dec 2021)
- Seattle Half Marathon (Nov 2021)
- Golden Gate Half Marathon (Nov 2021)
- San Francisco Half Marathon (September 2021)
- Santa Rosa Half Marathon (August 2021)
